Willis “Gene” North

Willis “Gene” North, age 83, of Utica, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Country Club Retirement Campus.  Gene was born on June 29, 1936 in Amity, Ohio to the late Willis and Opal (Kinnard) North.

Gene graduated from Plain City High School and went on to become a Tool and Die Maker.  He worked for Siemens Corporation in Bellefontaine and most recently with AMG Industries in Mount Vernon.  Gene was a long time member of the Newark Moose Lodge #499, where he achieved the title of Pilgrim; it is a great honor to be recognized as a Pilgrim of the Order.  He attended Utica Church of Christ for many years.  Gene enjoyed being at the Moose Lodge with his friends, golfing, but mostly he loved being around his family.

Gene is survived by his wife, Janice North; children, David North, Charles North; step-children, Lisa (Ralph) Caruso, Timothy Bonham, Christopher Bonham, Bobby (Ginger) Butcher, Michael Butcher; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Joyce) North.

Along with his parents, Gene is preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky James; a brother, Rex North; and a grandson, Brian North.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

  • Janis I am so sorry for your loss. Carl & I always liked being around you too. Gene could always make Carl laugh. We talked about the two of you often. Carl wanted to go see Gene one more time but his time ran out last September before I could get him back up to see Gene. Janis I will keep you in my prayers. Always remember the good times and it will help you get through this very say times.
