William M. “Bill” Aleshire Jr. age 81, of Butler passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon.

He was born on April 22, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio to the late William and Ethel (Milless) Aleshire Sr.  Bill was employed and retired from Ancon in Hilliard after many years of service.  He was a veteran serving in the United States Army.  Bill enjoyed fishing, boating, wood working and target shooting.  But most of all, he loved the time he spent with his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife Joan (White) Stringfellow Aleshire; his daughter Suzanne (Brock) Hopkins of Gambier; his son Phillip (Cheryl) Aleshire of Sugar Creek; three grandchildren, Emily Aleshire, Allison Aleshire, Ryan Aleshire; and his sister Martha Hamilton of Grove City.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife Priscilla Aleshire.

Friends may call on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 11-1PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.  A service will follow, beginning at 1PM, with Pastor Tom Orr officiating.  Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council, will be held in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
