William J. “Bill” Wangler, age 64, of Apple Valley, died Thursday October 14, 2010 at his residence. Bill was born April 3, 1946 in Toledo to Arthur and Virginia (Culver) Wangler. He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Bill was instrumental in opening the first claims office for the Grange Insurance Company in Toledo where he served as the manager for over 28 years. He had an associate degree as a Casualty Claims Law Associate. Bill was a life member and past president of the Toledo Claims Association, was a member of the Arbitration Forums for 13 years and served as their chairman for 7 years; and was a member of the Ohio Insurance Institute for 9 years. He was a member of the Apple Valley Fish and Restocking Club. Along with being a devoted husband and father, Bill loved to fish and boat with his two sons and grandsons.

Surviving are his wife Diane (Rutowski) Wangler whom he married March13, 1971; his sons Kevin (Emily) Wangler of Grove City and Bradley (Cathy Quill) Wangler of Toledo; his daughter Kelly Wangler of Columbus and 2 grandchildren Donovin and Nate Wangler-Clark.

The family will observe calling hours on Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Coyle Funeral Home (1770 South Reynolds Rd., Toledo, Ohio 43614). A private family service will be held at a later date.
