William F. Wieland, age 65, of Mount Gilead, died Tuesday afternoon, August 4, 2009, at his residence.

Bill was born on July 8, 1944 in Galion, Ohio, the son of the late Fred W. and Kathryn (Gantz) Wieland. He graduated from Mount Gilead High School in the Class of 1962. He later received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Franklin University.

Crafty with his hands, Bill enjoyed woodworking, making items such as display cases, shelving units, and quilt racks. He was also very skilled in performing home repairs.

With a love for reading, Bill’s interests included biographies, history, and the encyclopedia. He also had a vast knowledge and appreciation for jazz and classical music.
