William C. Walker, age 65, of 8080 Sycamore Road, Centerburg, died Wednesday January 16, 2002 at the Heartland Care Center in Centerburg. Bill was born December 13, 1936 in Morgan County, Ohio to Joseph Harold Walker and Priscilla (Sims) Walker. He served with the U S Navy from 1955 to 1959. Bill was a faithful member of the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon the Gideons, was the former owner of Alis Chalmers in Bangs and Jericho Livestalk Hauling, and was an active member of the N.R.A.
He is survived by his wife Rita (Brinkman) Walker whom he married September 27, 1964; two daughters Teresa Walker of Delaware and Michele Walker of Reynoldsburg; five brothers Joe (Ginny) Walker of Zanesville, Phil (Faye) Walker of Chandlersville, Don (Kathryn) Walker of Reynoldsburg, John (Phyllis Ann) Walker of Marion and Jim (Rosa) Walker of Newton Falls; 4 sisters Mary (Jim) McConnell of Zanesville, Ruth (Don) Riddle of Dublin, Alice (Harold) Moran of Wooster and Joyce (Arnie) Engelburt of Florida; his aunt Jean Wolfe of Georgia and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son Matthew Walker.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00AM at the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon with Rev. Robert Morrison officiating. Friends may call at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon Thursday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM and at the church one hour before the funeral. Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will be in Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg.
