BELLVILLE: W. Eugene Fry, age 78, of Bellville, passed away Tuesday morning January 15, 2013 peacefully at MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio.
He was born September 2, 1934 in Bellville, Ohio to Walter and Carrie (Thomas) Fry. He lived the majority of his life in Bellville graduating from Bellville High School in 1952.
On June 22, 1954 he married Mildred Jane Hardman, and they made their home, and raised their family in Bellville. He often spoke about the friendships he made with his customers at “The Store” which was Martin Hardware – Westside where he worked for over 39 years.
He was dedicated to his God Jehovah as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 59 years, and served as an Elder in the Mansfield South Congregation.
Eugene truly enjoyed Jehovah God’s creation as he viewed the baby Black Angus calves running across the field on his farm. He could be seen in his hay fields preparing for the winter so he could spoil his cows which he had given individual names. He spent time imparting his knowledge to his children and grandchildren speaking of his experiences in life.
Part of Eugene’s personality was showing hospitality to friends and families with hay rides and sledding parties on the farm. He enjoyed teaching people the Kingdom Message and simple truths of the Bible. He loved speaking about how this earth will soon be transformed into a paradise with all sickness done away with and those that die will be resurrected to this earth when all wickedness and suffering is removed.
