Virginia L. Totman passed away on Monday July 31, 2006 at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. Virginia was born on January 15, 1933 in Mount Vernon to the late William Edward and Carmen (Joris, Baudin) Beeman. She was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and married the late Kenneth (Speedy) Totman on April 19, 1956. She was a member of the South Vernon United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s group where she participated in the annual candy making at Easter and was on the communion committee with her closest friend, Alice Stringfellow who precedes her in death. Virginia was also a former foster grandparent for the Mount Vernon Developmental Center. She loved her clients very much. Prior to that she read to students at the former West School. Virginia was also very active in the annual PPG picnic held for retirees and her passion was BINGO! “A kind heart and soul, a sparrow in God’s hands.”

She is survived by a son, Douglas Totman of Sparks, Nevada, daughters, Renelle Annett, Colleen (Robert) Milligan and Kim (Steve) Auker all of Mount Vernon, former son-in-law, George Annett, grandsons, Robert (Monique) Milligan and Mike Bond, great grandchildren, Tyler and Matthew Milligan and Lyndsay Bond, a brother, Virgil Beeman and three sisters-in-law, Louise Alexander, Eileen Hatton, Dee Beeman and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Beeman, Gerald Beeman, Armand Baudin, sisters, Irene Warning, Lorraine Hissong and son-in-law, Dennis Bond.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with Rev. Kevin Reed officiating. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
