Vada Dorothy Sanderson

LEXINGTON: Vada Dorothy Sanderson, age 88, of Newark and formerly of Lexington passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011 in Flint Ridge Nursing Center in Newark.
She was born February 17, 1923, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of John Robert and Theodora (Christen) Bold.
Vada worked for the U.S. Department of Defense, specifically the Army, in the personnel department.
She enjoyed quilting and gardening, and belonged to a quilting group.
Vada was a member of Resurrection Parish.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lynn and David Riggenbach of Granville, grandchildren and their spouses Kelli Sanderson, Julie and Bruce Brown, Michael Riggenbach, and Kaitlyn Riggenbach, great grandchildren Ashleigh Nicole Brown, Hannah Kathryn Brown, and Carson Drake Brown, along with loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
Vada was preceded in death by a son James (Jim) Sanderson, and a sister Rosemary Mathis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in Resurrection Parish. The Very Rev. Father Nelson Beaver will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
