Timothy Friend, a true friend to all with an ornery disposition, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 surrounded by his family. Tim was 64 years old and lived in Marion.

Tim was born March 18, 1954 in Marion, Ohio to the late Elroy and Evelyn (Shelton) Friend.  Tim attended Harding High School in Marion.  For more than 36 years, Tim worked at Whirlpool retiring in 2009.  Not being able to sit still, Tim continued to work for Nucor Steel Marion as a security guard.

Tim loved to spend time with his family and friends. He could often be found playing and coaching baseball and softball. Tim loved to attend auctions and would collect everything from clocks and tools to baseball cards and coins.  He loved to cheer on his Atlanta Braves and OSU Buckeyes and was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan.  Tim could often be found spending time at the track, with his friends and family, watching horse races.

Tim will be missed by his longtime companion, Deb Howard; children, Tim (Susan) Friend of Cincinnati, Tonia (Brian Prater) Blankley of Prospect, Rob (Melissa) Howard of Dublin, and Kaylyn Howard of Marion; grandchildren, Lanie and Lilie Blankley and Sofia and Penelope Friend; brother,  Roy (Cindy) Friend of Barnesville and nephews Roy and Mike Friend; along with countless cousins and friends.

Family and friends may call at Cornerstone Alliance Church, 2010 Marion-Marysville Rd, Marion, Monday, August 13, 2018 from 11 am until 1 pm. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm with Rev. Brent Layne officiating.
