Timothy Andrew Staats, 48, of Galion, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at home after failing health.

Born November 4, 1967 in Crawford County, Ohio, he was the son of Charles C. Staats and Ruth Ann (Brothers) Staats. On November 18, 2000, Tim married Sherry L. (Kuhn) Staats and she survives.

He was a graduate of Northmor High School Class of 1987 and worked as a packer at Waycraft Industries in Bucyrus. Tim was a faithful member of Grace Point where he enjoyed the church’s Kidventure. In addition to being an avid NASCAR and wrestling fan he collected antique model cars.

In addition to his wife, Sherry, he is survived by his father and step-mother, Charles C. Staats and Pam McGowan of Galion; step sister Heather and Jack Goodyear of Galion; step-brother Jake and Amber McGowan, of Galion; brothers-in-law, Kevin Kuhn of Virginia, Robert Kuhn of Crestline and David and Chris Kuhn of Galion; numerous aunts and uncles; good friends Virginia White of Galion and Tim Benedict of Galion and his pet cat Sassie Andy Staats.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Ann (Brothers) Staats and grandparents, Alvin and Myrtle Rainer.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2016 at Grace Point, 683 Portland Way North, Galion, Ohio 44833. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Grace Point with Rev. Paul Walter officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kidventure at Grace Point in care of the funeral home.

    Andy and I are so sad to hear of Tim’s passing, but we know he is in heaven living with a restored body and his earthly suffering has ended. Prayers of God’s great comfort to you and your family.
