Thomas P. Hedges, age 53, of North Sandusky Street, Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday February 22, 2007. He was born on September 12, 1953 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to Ralph “Bud” and Bernice (Goodchild) Hedges. Tom retired in 1991 after 19 years of employment as an electrician for Knox Community Hospital. He played in several rock bands over the years including Stained Glass, Cyclops and Malaki. Tom was an avid Ohio State University sports fan and also enjoyed watching the Indy Racing League. Although he enjoyed these hobbies, the most important thing for Tom was spending quality time with his wife, children, grandchildren and many friends.
He will be sadly missed by his family, his wife Catherine (Welker) Hedges, a son, Aaron (Angie) Hedges of Mount Vernon, a daughter, Anggie (David) Khalil of Mount Vernon, four grandchildren, Jordan and Hannah Hedges, Bishop and Amaya Khalil, his father, a sister, Sharon Stokes Franz of Mount Vernon and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother-in-law Ray Michael Franz.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 4 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 12 PM with Rev. Stan Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
