Thomas C. “Tricky Tom” Wright

Thomas C. “Tricky Tom” Wright, age 78 of Sunbury died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at St. Ann’s Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born on June 16, 1929 in Lockbourne to the late Frank and Victoria (Sanford) Wright. Following graduation in 1947 from Johnstown High School, he served in the US Army. A master finish carpenter with Cody-Ziegler, he specialized in hanging doors. Following retirement he operated Tom’s Sharp All in Sunbury.
Member of V.F.W. Post 8736, Delaware Moose Lodge, and Sunbury Eagles; where he also enjoyed the golf league. He was the original coach of the Sunbury Cardinal’s team of the BWYAA pee wee league. He collected Stroh’s signs and tools, with a philosophy to always have the “wright” tool for the job. He loved being on the golf course, deer hunting, and breakfast at the Sunbury Grill. One who always left an impression; he was mischievous at heart and wished to be remembered as a good husband, father, and grandfather.
Survived by his wife of almost 58 years: Patricia E. (Potter), son Eric (Deborah) of Columbus, Grandchildren: Alexandrea (Jason) Green, Derek and Sarah Wright, Great-granddaughter: Sophie, Brothers Billie, Lee (Joann), Monroe (Sharon) Wright, and sister Rebecca Simons all of Johnstown.
Preceded in death by son Thomas L. Wright in 2000, sister Virginia Smoot, and beloved canine Wally.
Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Wednesday 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Lloyd Huffer officiating, interment will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park.
