Thelma E. Morningstar, age 80 of Delaware formerly of Radnor died Monday, March 19, 2007 at Delaware Court Health Care Center.

She was born on August 6, 1926 at Jane Case Hospital in Delaware to the late Luther and Hildred (Sheets) Poe. A graduate of Sunbury High School in 1944, she had been a resident of SR 257 in Radnor for 43 years before moving to Chelsea St. in Delaware.

An office manager, she retired from Borden Manufacturing. Her first job was working with the Air Force Depot at the Columbus fairgrounds and throughout her working career she had been employed with Delaware Heating, Ranco, General Castings, in addition to area Krogers and Meijers stores.

She collected cookbooks, her collection included over 3,600 volumes before she moved to Delaware. Her other collections included recipes post cards, dog figurines, magnets, and a unique collection of kitchen timers. She shared her passion for hobbies with her husband, whom she assisted in preparing and typing the various bulletins and newsletters which they were members, including Heart Ohio Post Card Club, Marion Hobby Club, Union County Coin and Stamp Club as well as numerous other coin and postcard organizations.

Survived by Son and his wife: Larry and Linda Corbett of Delaware, 6 Grandchildren, 14 Great-grandchildren, and a dear cousin: Lula Mae Sheets of Sunbury.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years: Wendell C. Morningstar who died in 2004, a son Lewis N. Carter and brother Donald W. Poe also precede her in death.

Friends may call Friday 5-7 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where services will be held Saturday 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lloyd McMillian officiating, burial will follow in the Green Mound Cemetery in Kilbourne.
