Steve A. “Pushrod” Smith, Sr., 64, of Galion passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019.

He was born March 7, 1955 in Chillicothe, Ohio and was the son of Gene Smith and Z. Ruth (Tomlin) Foor.

Steve was a truck driver for many years, lastly driving for S & S Trucking. He was a member of AMVETS Polk Township Post 1979 of Galion. Steve enjoyed hunting and anything with a motor, especially riding his 1974 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

He is survived by his mom, Z. Ruth Foor of Galion; daughters Amy (Chad) Legron of Attica and Andrea (Bill) Nelson of Crestline; son Steve II (Tasha) Smith of Galion; seven grandchildren Layne Nelson, Bri Collins, Triston Nelson, Gage Legron, Brode Smith, Gavin Legron and Briston Smith; one great-grandson Kason Pollock; two brothers Mike (Sue) Smith of Galion and Tony (Charisse) Smith of Edison, Ohio and step-sister Cheryl (Steve) Washington of Lexington.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gene Smith; a grandson, Brice Alan J. Smith and a step-father, Nobert Foor.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the AMVETS Post 1979, 420 Harding Way East, Galion, Ohio 44833.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
