Stanley Lee Ebert, 85, of 814 Ann Street, East Lansing, Mich., died Friday, July 11, 2003 in Michigan.

Born May 25, 1918 in Galion, OH, he was the son of the late Arthur Lee and Amy Louise Ebert.

He was a member of the Military Order of the World War and secretary of the Retired Officers Association. He was a volunteer committee member with young people in the State of Michigan providing evaluation and funding for youth to enroll in military programs.

He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in May of 1941 and entered the US Navy in January of 1942 just after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a retired Navy Captain serving during World War II and also served with the U.S. Naval Reserve for a total of 27 years.

Surviving are his wife Sei Ebert and a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur Franklin and Marian Ebert, of Galion and a niece, Patti C. Ebert, of Dublin.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jean Courtney Ebert and a nephew, Thomas A.L. Ebert.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Matus officiating. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
