Sondra (Sandy) Waddell age 69 of Mount Vernon, passed away January 13, 2019 from natural causes. She was born in Frostburg, Maryland on June 28, 1949 to the late Clarence Lawrence Skidmore and Luella (Mason) Wyatt.
She spent her childhood in Baltimore, Maryland where she considered home until graduating high school in 1967 then moving to Ohio. As a teen, she learned to crochet and had a passion for making Afghans for many family members.
She worked at Faultless Rubber Co. in Ashland as an executive secretary for many years. She moved to Mansfield were she studied to receive her realtor’s license and worked for Sluss Realty. She was very active in the The Order of the Amaranth from Grand Conductress to being crowned Grand Royal Matron for the State of Ohio. Later on she was voted in as the Mifflin Township Trustee before moving to North Fort Myers, Florida. There she was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary and The Honor Guard of Post #81.
Sandy is survived by her son, Dale (Shawna) Hawker of Alabama; step daughters, Tereva Pocock of Mansfield and Lisa (Mike) Szymczak of Mount Vernon; sister-in-law, Paulette (Bob) Grant of Galion; grandson, Joel Hawker of Florida; step grandsons, Zach Pocock of Mansfield, Zeke (Tiffany) Pocock of Mansfield; Michael (Sara) Woogerd of Columbus, Reed (Caylah) Woogerd of Texas and Tyler (Andrea) Woogerd of Columbus; step grandchildren, Jillian, Eden, Lilah, Julian, Addison and Kylie Wyatt.
Sandy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence (Jack) Waddell; father, Clarence Lawrence Skidmore; and mother, Luella (Mason) Wyatt.
Services will be at a later date held in North Fort Myers, Florida.
