Sherry L. Crawford

Sherry L. Crawford, age 68, of Edison, passed away Saturday morning, January 28, 2017, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born on May 30, 1948, in Kankakee, IL., to the late Carlton Anderson and Marjorie (Girard) Kendall. Sherry was a graduate of Fullerton High School in California.
On March 2, 1969, Sherry married the love of her life Larry A. Crawford whom preceded her in death. Together they shared 34 wonderful years and were blessed with two children, Mark and Nanette.
Sherry worked as a tax preparation clerk for Jackson Hewitt and H&R Block for many years. She also currently sat as a Village Council member for the Village of Edison. Sherry was a member of the AmVets and past member of the Williamsport United Methodist Church.
In her spare time, Sherry used to enjoy bowling in various leagues. She also was an excellent baker. Sherry was known to bake cakes for every family member and close friend on special occasions such as birthdays and weddings. At Christmas time she loved to bake cookies for her family, friends, and even the neighborhood. Being crafty, Sherry enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing. Her children can remember some of the wonderful clothes and costumes she made for them as they were growing up.
Sherry is survived by her children: Mark (Amy) Crawford of Howard and Nanette (Donny) Newsome of North Port, FL; and grandchildren: Loralai, Derek, Savannah, Dylan, and Nathan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother: Noel Works.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017, at 3 PM, at the Edison United Methodist Church, with her brother-in-law, Dale Crawford officiating. There will be a graveside service in Bryn Zion Cemetery prior, at 1 PM, for close family and friends.
