Shelba Jean Brown

Shelba Jean Brown, age 75 of Ashley, died peacefully in her home early Saturday May 10, 2014, after an extended illness.
She was born on September 8, 1938 in Bladensburg, OH and graduated from Elm Valley High School in 1956.
Shelba Jean was a homemaker her whole life, devoting her time to her family & friends. She was an avid crafter and was often found at local craft shows. When Shelba Jean wasn’t crafting you could find her enjoying all the activities her children and grandchildren were a part of. She also enjoyed square dancing with her husband and watching sports. She was a member of the Delaware Senior Citizens and a 20 year member of the Ashley Grange.
Shelba Jean will be dearly missed by her husband & best friend of 56 years, Donald; two daughters: Rae Jean (William) Brown of Delaware, and Patricia (Ron) Aleshire of Delaware; two grandchildren: Kristin (Ed) Clark of Prospect, and Nathan (April) Shaw of Delaware; a step granddaughter, Courtney Aleshire of Delaware; three great grandchildren: Nicole, Wyatt, and Rylie; a step-great grandchild, Jayla; a brother, William Cackler of Kilbourne, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Eunice Cackler.
Her family will greet friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13th, 2014, at the Bennett-Brown-Rodman & Snyder Funeral Home in Ashley, 307 E. High St., Ashley, OH. Private graveside services will be held at a later date with family.
