Scott E. Mosher

December 20, 1985 ‒ March 03, 2019

Mount Gilead, Ohio

Scott E. Mosher, age 33, of Mount Gilead passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, March 3, 2019.  He was greeted at the gates of Heaven by his MaMaw and PaPaw.

On December 20, 1985, Scott was born in Marion, Ohio, son of Melissa D. (Compton) Mosher and the late Bruce E. Mosher.  He graduated from Mount Gilead High School in the Class of 2004.

For many years, Scott was a firefighter for the Mount Gilead Fire Department.  He then worked as a Class A CDL truck driver.  He recently started a construction job where he mostly focused on finish work.  He was great with his hands and could fix anything.

Scott loved music and playing his guitars and banjo.  He especially liked country and southern rock music.  He enjoyed riding quads and dirtbikes and attending motocross, supercross and sprint car events.  He could always be found outdoors fishing, shooting guns, camping, and relaxing by a good campfire.  He absolutely loved his nephew Ryder and enjoyed playing with him every day.

Scott was extremely funny and always showed off his wonderful sense of humor.  He was also a very caring individual.  He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle and friend to many.

Scott will be dearly missed by his mother, Melissa Mosher of Mount Gilead; three brothers: Sean Mosher of Mount Gilead, Eric (Heather Chafin) Mosher of Ashley, Brenton (Jayna) Mosher of Washington Courthouse; a sister, Melissa (Robert) Peters of Marion; a step-sister, Emily Varner of Galion; a step-brother, Levi Varner of Columbus; step-father, Bob Varner of Mount Gilead; aunt, Vickie Compton of Mount Gilead; nephew, Ryder Mosher and niece, Ariyana Valdry.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ralph and Charlotte Compton.

Scott’s family will greet friends from 12Noon – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Edison Enterprise Baptist Church, 3055 State Route 95, Edison, OH 43320.  Services to honor and celebrate his life will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ed Colegrove officiating.  Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Scott’s family to assist with final expenses.

  • I don’t even know what to say. I just remember this little, blonde headed boy following me around a long time ago. He seemed to of turned into a fine, young man. Gone far too soon, and no amount of words could possibly express how sorry I am. So tragic!

  • Melissa and Sean,
My sincere condolences and sympathies for the passing of Scott. What a kind person he was. He always had an infectious smile to share. His time here was way too short. I’m glad he got to spend time with Ryder. I’m sure he will be watching over him as he grows up. He was loved by so many people, and he will be sadly missed. 💔

  • Words can not express how sorry I am for your loss of Scott and the heart-break you have to endure. A mother should never have to go through such tragedy of loosing a child. As parents we should be first in heaven to greet them when they fall into our loving arms and that of Jesus Christ. The same goes for Vicki because Scott’s, Aunt Vicki, loved him larger than life too. Heaven must have needed another angel and only when we’re there ourselves will we be able to fully understand. I have and always will love you all. Love, Allana
