Ruth Ethel Bosworth, age 98, of Marengo, died peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Bennington Glen Care Center surrounded by her loving family.  Born July 16, 1920 to the late Wilbur and Inez Gould in Atwater, Ohio.  Sixty-plus year Member of Marengo United Methodist Church.  Preceded in death by husband, Ted C. Bosworth; daughter, Marilyn J. (Bosworth) Rogers; son, Richard L. Bosworth. Survived by grandchildren, Jeff, Melissa, Steve, Randy and Rhonda; son-in-law, Paul D. Rogers; 14 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.  Friends may call 7 – 9 pm Thursday, March 14, 2019 at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. State Route 61, (at SR 3), Sunbury, where Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Friday.  Pastor Ron Dixon officiating.  Interment Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg.  Contributions may be made to the Marengo UMC in Ruth’s memory.  The DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home of Sunbury is honored to serve Ruth’s family.   • So sorry to learn of this. She was a wonderful neighbor who always had an open door for all of the neighborhood kids. I have fond memories of having a glass of ice water and cookies on those lazy afternoon days when I stopped to visit while riding my bike. Prayers to the family.

  • Mrs. Bosworth was one of the greatest family friends the Phelps family has ever had –since 1959. I basically grew up knowing her, Marilyn, Paul, Jeff, Melissa and Steve. Many summer days we would walk down to visit her. She will be greatly missed by so many.
