Russell L. Parker, 76, of Parrott St., Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday morning, May 2, 2006 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. He was on born on January 15, 1930 in Knox County, Ohio, a son of the late George and Hazel Mae (Wheeler) Parker

Russell had worked for the City of Mount Vernon at the Mound View Cemetery and had worked at the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens as a laborer. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4027 and Amvets Post 95 both in Mount Vernon. Russell loved to listen to music and to play the harmonica, the banjo, and the guitar.

Surviving Russell is his son, Tim Kochis of Fredericktown; his four grandchildren, Holly Kochis and Timothy Kochis Jr. both of Mount Vernon, Sunshine Kochis of Logan, and Corey Lawrence of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters, George O’Berinch of Norwalk, Elizabeth Halher of Willard, Flora belle Brown of Norwalk, Mary Ruth Ferrell of Norwalk, Anna Dexter of Gambier and Alice Lester of Fredericktown; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Louise Kochis in 1983 and his stepfather, Albert Wolf.

There will no calling hours or funeral service. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Chesterville, Ohio
