Rosie Marie “Nancy” Chafin, age 82, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Marion General Hospital.

Rosie was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on March 29, 1938 to the late Thomas and Betsy (Sizemore) Lucas.

Nancy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She always made sure anyone who came to her house was well fed and was known as the neighbor mom to many. Always up for a car ride, Nancy enjoyed riding over to Amish Country and made sure to leave with a pie or two.

Being a woman of deep faith, Nancy was a member of Family Life Church, formerly Restoration Tabernacle.

Nancy is survived by children, Debra (Larry) Hurd of Ocala, Florida, Robert (Barbara) Chafin of Morral, Tim (Renee) Chafin of Austin, Texas, Tom Chafin of Marion,  Kathy Hall of Ocala, Florida, James Chafin of Marion, Lisa Chafin of Marion, and Marvin Chafin of Marion; 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister-in-law, Eleanor Aldridge; and lifelong friends Larry and Janet Hamm.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Arthur B. Chafin and brothers, Marvin and Don.

Visitation will be held at Snyder Funeral Homes, Gunder/Hall Chapel (347 West Center St., Marion) on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 11 until 1 pm. A 1 pm funeral will be held Thursday at Snyder Funeral Homes, Gunder/Hall Chapel with Pastor Tom Toney officiating.  Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Nancy’s honor to Family Life Church.

    Our family is still in disbelief 😥& very sadden😪, Life will Not be the same not being able to see you, hug you, or say We Love You again,.. but God has spared you from anymore pain, sorrow, heartbreak, & loneliness…as the world of unknown continues here on earth, may you enjoy your Heavenly 🦋wings you’ve earned, be painfree, forever happy, 🎚rejoicing with Grandpa, brothers, sisters, family, & friends that have been waiting to welcome you Home🏡. You were more of a mother to me, grandmother to All my children, & had that fighting spirit to look up too with everything you have endured in life, you gave me hope, wisdom, & strength to get thru some tough times together, to my children & I, YOU Will ALWAYS hold a Special place in our 💜’s FOREVER. The house wont seem like a home, your flowers 🥀& trees🌳 will not be as cherished as only u loved them, family get togethers & holidays may cease now not having you or grandpa here to carry on stories, good food, & your loving ❤hearts to us All. May your Life be the Light🌅 that Shines thru ALL of Us left here on Earth🌍 to change for the better, as We All know life is to short to be bitter, carry hatred, & not LOVE one another, YOU gave it ALL to the end for many years & now your time to rest for eternity has come, We Love & will miss you dearly momma/grandma & great grandma, til we meet again😭😥😪💔💜
