Rosemary R. Seaman, age 81 of Marengo, died peacefully at home early Tuesday morning, August 7, 2007 surrounded by her family.

Born on June 26, 1926 in Columbus to the late Paul E. and Gladys (Hinkle) Reed. She was a resident of the Marengo area since 1957. A homemaker in later years, she and her husband, Carl, owned and operated the former Igloo drive-in restaurant on S.R.61 and Grandma’s restaurant in Marengo.

Rosemary was a care provider to many in need as well as to the animals around her homestead. Both strong-willed and generous, she possessed a keen sense of humor. When able she was an active member of the American Legion Post #710 Ladies Aux.

Survived by her husband of almost 50 years Carl E. Seaman Jr., son Robert (Marcia) Taylor, Pittsburg, PA, granddaughter Denise (Eric) Tracy and her mother Cheryl Taylor, great-grandchildren: Jackie and Jesse – all of Mason, special niece Sarah Reed (Tim Brass) of Reynoldsburg, and nephew Paul Reed of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Reed.

Private services will be held for her family. Arrangements entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Marengo. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Morrow County, P.O. Box 86, Mt. Gilead, Ohio 43338.
