Rose Marie Monesmith, 76, of Delaware died early Friday morning at the Delaware Court Health Care Center after an extended illness. She was born September 1, 1930 in Stratford to the late Lawrence and Wilma (Stockdale) Evans. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Delaware. She graduated from Hyatts High School in 1948 and had retired from the State of Ohio (ODOT) in 1991. Rose was a caring and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She valued the friendship of her many friends and enjoyed gardening, traveling, and reading. She is survived by her husband, John; 2 daughters, Nancy (Michael) Riesmeyer of Jacksonville Beach, Florida and Peggy Brenner of Delaware; son, Charles E. (Dana) Brenner of Cummings, Georgia; 2 stepdaughters, Jan Monesmith of Delaware and Amy Dillon of Dayton; 2 stepsons, Mark (Drena) Monesmith of Germantown and Harry (Marilyn) Monesmith of Hanes City, Florida; 9 grandchildren, 6 stepgrandchildren, and 6 greatgrandchildren; sister, Mary Beth (Don) Routte of Waco, Texas. At her request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. A Celebration of Rose’s Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Bennett Brown Chapel, Delaware.
