Ronald L. Jones, 65, of Galion passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his residence following a long battle with cancer.

He was born November 17, 1949 in Mansfield and was the son of Paul and Evelyn (Prosser) Jones.

Ronald was a 1967 graduate of Crestview High School and had worked as a machinist 18 years for the Shiloh Tool and Die Co. and 10 years for Hartman Electric in Mansfield. He was a member of the Shiloh Lodge #544 F&AM, VFW Post #4329 and AMVETS Polk Twp. #1979 both of Galion. Ron loved riding his Harley and enjoyed his ’76 Corvette. He was a kind person who just enjoyed being around people.

He is survived by his lifetime soulmate, Jamie Needels of Galion; son, Ryan Slaughter of Mt.Vernon; sisters, Paula (Dean) Levingston of Ashland, Barb (Chuck) Obleness of Pataskala and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 pm Monday, December 29, 2014 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where Masonic services will be held at 7:00 pm by the Galion Lodge #414 F &AM followed by a Memorial service with Pastor Bruce Copley officiating.
