Roger D. Heaton, age 79, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at his home.  He was born on October 19, 1940 in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the son of Frank and Marjorie (Dean) Heaton.  Roger retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass after 32 years of employment and later owned and operated Chem Wash Power Wash in Mount Vernon.

He was a member of Ebenezer Church and the Colonial City Moose Lodge.  Roger also served as a volunteer firefighter for Monroe Township.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by a son; Donald (Mitzi) Heaton of York, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Debra (Philip) Spangler of Wichita Falls, Texas and Dianna (Gratton) Sparks of York, Pennsylvania, seven grandchildren, Michael, Lauren, Briana, Taylor, Ashley, Glade and Grant; two great granddaughters, Ariana, Kennedy and a sister Patsy Chase of Mount Vernon.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Janet Heaton and a grandson, Ryan Heaton.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday beginning at 12 noon at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio, 43050 where friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Roger’s name may be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
