ROCCO ANTHONY VENEZIANO, 77, BELOVED HUSBAND AND DEVOTED FATHER AND GRANDFATHER, DIED WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AT THE CONVALARIUM AT INDIAN RUN, DUBLIN. HE WAS BORN JULY 29, 1928 IN CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA TO JOSEPH ANTHONY VENEZIANO AND ANTOINETTE (nee AUDIA) VENEZIANO. HE WAS A KOREAN WAR ARMY VETERAN WHO GRADUATED FROM SALEM COLLEGE IN SALEM, WEST VIRGINIA. HE WAS A MEMBER OF ST. PETERS CATHOLIC CHURCH, COLUMBUS AND ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, DELAWARE. A RETIRED ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER WITH DELAWARE CITY SCHOOLS, HE WAS PRINCIPAL AT CARLISLE ELEMENTARY FOR 10 YEARS AND HAD RECEIVED THE EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR THE STATE OF OHIO. HE WAS ACTIVE WITH THE OHIO ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS PRINCIPALS ASSOCIATION AND WAS A MOTIVATIONAL PUBLIC SPEAKER. HE WAS FORMER AUDITOR FOR THE STATE OF OHIO AND FORMER BAILIFF FOR THE DELAWARE MUNICIPAL COURTS UNDER JUDGE TAYLOR. HE WAS A 50 YEAR MEMBER AND PAST GRAND KNIGHT OF THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS #1056, DELAWARE WHERE HE RECEIVED HIS 4TH DEGREE ON MARCH 1, 1976 FOR DELAWARE COUNCIL #0844. HE ALSO SERVED AS FAITHFUL NAVIGATOR FROM 1986 – 1988 AND FAITHFUL CAPTAIN FROM 1995 – 1997 FOR THE DELAWARE COUNCIL #0844. HE SERVED AS PAST KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS STATE WARDEN, PAST STATE ADVOCATE, PAST STATE TREASURER, PAST STATE SECRETARY, PAST STATE DEPUTY (1983-1985), AND PAST VICE SUPREME MASTER OF THE 4TH DEGREE. HE WAS ALSO A MEMBER OF THE VFW #3297, DELAWARE. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE OF 55 YEARS, MARY VIRGINIA (nee ANDY); DAUGHTERS, TONI (KENNETH) EVANS OF DELAWARE AND MICHELLE DENISE VENEZIANO OF COLUMBUS; SON, FRANK JOSEPH VENEZIANO OF CINCINNATI; 5 GRANDCHILDREN, CLINT AND MARILYN EVANS, GINA SANTIAGO, JOEY AND MARIA VENEZIANO; SISTER, FLORENCE BURNETT OF CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA; NUMEROUS NIECES AND NEPHEWS. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY A SISTER, CATHERINE HARTMAN AND 4 BROTHERS, PETER AND THEODORE VENEZIANO, AND CARMEN AND LOUIS ROBERTI. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT THE RODMAN BENNETT BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 92 N. SANDUSKY ST., DELAWARE ON SUNDAY FROM 2 – 4 AND 6 – 8 PM WHERE A VIGIL OF PRAYER SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 8:00 PM AND A KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SERVICE AT 8:15 PM. A FUNERAL MASS WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY OCTOBER 3, 2005 AT 10:00 AM AT ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 82 E. WILLIAM ST., DELAWARE WITH FR. JAMES HANDLEY AND FR. KEVIN KAVANAGH OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW IN ST. MARY CEMETERY WITH FELLOW KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS MEMBERS SERVING AS PALLBEARERS.
