Robert Roy Lacher, age 94 of Lewis Center, died at his home early Wednesday morning, February 9, 2005.

He was born in Delaware, Ohio on February 26, 1910 to the late Alice (Demarest) and George Lacher. Lacher, the former owner of Lacher Electric, served as a medical technician with the Americal Division at Guadalcanal, New Caledonia, and the Fiji Islands during WWII. He was a 1929 graduate of Powell High School and earned a B.A. degree from The Ohio State University. Lacher was an Orange Township volunteer fireman for many years and a long-time member of the Liberty Presbyterian Church, serving as Elder and Trustee.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Florobel (Carpenter); a son, Robert S. (Marie) Lacher, Galena; two daughters, Alice Lee Lacher (Robert Meyer), Galena, and Rosemary Lacher, Lisbon; former son-in-law, James Lybarger, Salem; grandchildren, Benjamin Lybarger (Lisa Donnalley), Bethany Lacher, Andrew Meyer, Stephanie Meyer (Peter Adongo); great-grandchildren, Florabel Adongo, Cindy and Jimmy Robertson; two brothers, James, Yalaha, FL, and George (Ruth), Lewis Center; and a sister, Eleanor (Roger) Hawk, Delaware.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold, in 1981.

A memorial service will be held at the Orange Road Evangelical Friends Church, 3467 E. Orange Road, on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Chris Jackson officiating. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are in the care of DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Delaware.
