Robert E. Schmidt, age 84 of Delaware passed away January 3rd in the Manatee Memorial Hospital in Florida. He was born June 25, 1926 in Cincinnati to William and Elsie Gwinner Schmidt. A United States Air Force veteran, he’d been a Delaware resident since 1952, was a Senior Vice President of Landmark of Columbus and retired as its Chief Operating Manager. Bob was a member of the Ohio State University President’s Club, Delaware Elks, Moose, Hiram Masonic Lodge, and had a passion for playing golf. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ellen (Rickard); daughters Karen (Mike) Goebbel of Westerville, Barbara (Ken) Schmidt-Rinehart of Ashland, OH; son Robert of Whitefish, Montana; 7 grandchildren Todd (Sara), Kyle, and Aaron Goebbel, and Eric and Peter Schmidt, and Tim (Lindsay) and Mark (Laurie)Rinehart; 4 great-grandchildren Tyler Goebbel, Caleb, Jay and Brandy Rinehart. He was preceded in death by his son Eric in 1981 and a sister Martha. Friends will be received at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home on Saturday, January 8th from 1:00 until service time at 3:00 PM. Rev.
