Ricky Lee Richardson, 57, of Ashley died Friday evening in the emergency room at the Morrow County Hospital, Mt. Gilead. He was born July 2, 1949 to Marlo Richardson and Mary (McClain) Richardson. He served in the United States Air Force from 1970 – 1974 and had worked at the Delaware Post Office for almost 20 years. He was a member of the Ashley American Legion, the Academy of Model Aeronautics, and attended the Ashley Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed remote control airplanes, tractor pulls, and his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his parents of Ashley; 3 sons, Brandon (Holly) Richardson of Ashley, Rick Richardson Jr. of Panama City, Florida, and Justin Richardson of Ashley; 3 daughters, Michelle (Jay) Monteith of Bellefontaine, April (Paul) Adams and Angela (Jim) Frazier of Columbus; stepson, Harvey Tapp of Delaware; 9 grandchildren; 6 sisters, Myra (Robert) Lee of Columbus, Marla (Craig) Campbell of Marion, Julie (David) Rife, Linda (David) Marcum, Faith (Scott) Akers, all of Delaware, and Marylou Richardson of Dublin; sister-in-law, Donna Richardson of Ashley; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Marlo Jr., Tim, and Gary Richardson. The family will receive friends today (Monday April 2nd) from 5 – 8 pm at the Ashley Wesleyan Church, 305 E. High St., Ashley and where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dan Lemke officiating. Burial will follow in Ashley Union Cemetery with the Delaware County Veterans Association providing military honors. Contributions may be made to the church.
