Richard “Dick” L. Wolfe, age 66, of Becky Lane, Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on January 6, 1944 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Jane (Bell) Wolfe. Dick retired in 2007 from Ellis Brothers Incorporated. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Gambier Fishing Club, Kokosing Gun Club and former member of the Moose of Mount Vernon. Dick had previously served on the Knox County Fair Board and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and trap shooting. He was a fan of The Ohio State University sports teams and the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen (Kirby) Wolfe whom he married on March 7, 1964, a son, Richard “Rick” C. Wolfe of Mount Vernon, a daughter, Lynley Wolfe of Lewis Center, Ohio, a granddaughter, Macy Wolfe, two sisters, Ruth Ann Coakley and Mary Jane Wolfe both of Mount Vernon.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Bradley Lewis.

Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. The family will observe a private burial in Union Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gambier Fishing Club and can be left at the funeral home.
