Richard L. “Paps” Bargdill, 62 of Delaware, died unexpectedly Friday evening March 27, 2009 at home.

He was born on October 6, 1946 in Delaware to Harry and Janet (Wallace) Bargdill of Delaware. He was a 1965 graduate of St. Mary High School and a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was active in the family business Bargdill Salvage and Towing.

He was a member of the In Country Vets MC, American Legion, Amvets, Eagles and the VFW. He enjoyed motorcycle rides with friends and club members.

In addition to his parents he is survived by sons: Richard Brian Bargdill of Ashley, Keith Thomas Bargdill of Delaware; grandchildren: Breanna and Garrison; brothers: Harry (Janet) of Florida, Donald (Jackie) of Delaware, C. Joseph (Barb) of Delaware. Uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and several lifelong friends.

Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William Street, Delaware. Graveside services will be held Friday 10 a.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery with military honors by the Delaware County Veterans Assoc.
