Rhonda Lynn Hardison, 65, of Galena, passed away at home on Thursday, July 15, 2021. She was born in Columbus on February 21, 1956 to the Late Forrest Dale and Phyllis (Reese) Murray. She married Gary William Hardison, spending over 44 years together. Gary preceded her in death on May 19, 2019.

Survivors include one son, Gary (Christina) Hardison II of Delaware; one daughter, Stephanie (Robert) Dixon of Galena; four grandchildren, Blake Alexander, Kimberly Lynn Hardison, Sierra L. Dixon, and Anthony R. Dixon; one great-grandchild on the way; and great aunt, Florence.

Rhonda was a graduate of Columbus State Community College. She went on to teach at CDC Headstart for well over 30 years. She also loved to volunteer with the M.A.S.H. Pantry of Delaware. When she wasn’t working or helping others, Rhonda loved to swim, read, and spend time with her animals, family, and friends. She had so much love for and pride in those student’s and families she assisted in her life.

Per Rhonda’s request, the family has asked that everyone celebrate Rhonda in their own way. Please feel free to share photos and videos of your honor sentiments with the family on social media.   • My condolences to Rhonda Hardisons Family & Friends!! I used to go to Alum Creek to go camping and Rhonda & Gary used to camp there!! We would go over to their camp and sit around the fire and go fishing with them! We would all go there and had a great time!!Rhonda will be missed she was a good person in and out!! So sorry to all of the family my prayers go out
