Fredericktown, Ohio

Raymond LeRoy Litt, 57, of Fredericktown passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, March 6, 2019 at Knox Community Hospital. He was born on May 8, 1961 in Mount Vernon to LeRoy Litt and Colleen (Kempton)  Litt.

Raymond was the owner and operator of Raymond Litt Trucking. He began driving over the road for his father as soon as he graduated high school.  He then went into business for himself and logged many miles over the years from 1979-1997.  From 1998-2019 he logged 2,561, 508 miles.  He was an extremely hard worker.  He also farmed for a few years.  Although he was very shy, he had a huge heart, really cared about others and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.  Raymond’s final act of kindness was the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. He was a member of the Waterford Church of Christ and the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Belinda (Bishop) Litt; his parents, sisters, Margaret (Gary) Rowe of Mount Vernon and Vickie (Bob) Matheny of Fredericktown; nephew, Travis (Jessie) Rowe of Marysville; nieces, Ashlee (Nate) Armstrong of Mount Vernon and Lindsey (Heath) Kempton of Fredericktown; great nephew, Jaret Armstrong; great niece, Olivia Armstrong; and brothers-in-law, Leland (Susan) Bishop of Milford and Dave (Linda) Bishop of Fredericktown; nieces, Erica (Adam) Bryson of Dayton, Julie Bishop of Columbus and  Megan (Jason) Breeden of Rio Rancho, NM; nephew, Bradlee (Makenzie) Bishop of Fredericktown; great niece, Caralyn Bryson; great nephews, Jaxson Muncey, Bane Bishop and Declan McGoron.  He will be sadly missed by his good friends, Brad Doup, Bob Shelhorn and Jim Johnson.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Walter and Sylvia Aileen (Ebersole) Bishop; and a sister-in-law, Sherry Bishop.

The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 East College St., Fredericktown. A funeral service celebrating the life of Raymond will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Waterford Church of Christ, 20545 Waterford Rd., Fredericktown with Minister Joel Casetto officiating.  Burial will follow in Owl Creek Cemetery on Toms Rd., Ankenytown.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Waterford Church of Christ or the Owl Creek Church of the Brethren or the charity of one’s choice.

  • To the Litt Family: There are not enough words to express what the entire Litt family has meant to the Johnson Family over the years. We were just talking today that lifelong friendships are rare, but this was a friendship that has extended through three generations, first starting on Leedy Road outside of Fredericktown over 80 years ago. The love for driving big trucks was instilled in Jim & Raymond at a young age from their fathers. Between the four of them, LeRoy, Philip, Raymond & Jim, the road miles driven would be unfathomable to most. As Jim has often shared with Raymond – “It was our earthly fathers that taught us to drive, Raymond, but it has been our Heavenly Father that has kept us safe over all these miles.” Jim always looked forward to meeting Raymond for coffee, or a meal & a chat whenever & wherever their paths would meet on the road. Life will be much different in the years to come without Raymond’s, “Hey, Jim!” To the family – Our memories are something that death can never steal from us. We love you all. Please know how dear you are to our family & our prayers are most sincere in your behalf. . To Raymond – “See ya later!”

  • To Belinda andfamily, I am so very, very sorry to hear of the passing of Raymond. Praying for peace and the comfort of God’s arms surround you as you grieve.

  • Belinda and the Litt Family,
Our hearts are breaking for you all. Words cannot express our shock and sadness. You will be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Raymond will be missed.

  • Dear Belinda,
We are saddened to hear of Raymond’s sudden passing. Hold tight to your happy memories together. May God be with you and help ease the pain of your loss.
    Warmest regards,
    Jan and Bob Burk

I thought that has to be Raymond. Woke him up and he wanted to know who are you ??? I told him It’s Hippie ✅ He got up we talked for an hour or better. We decided to have breakfast in the morning. We talked for another hour both had to get going. I thought we would meet again sometime. Was talking about building a barn. Raymond was a great guy to work with & in a class of his own 👍🏁 It’s my privilege to know Raymond 👈 God Bless🙏

We first met back in the early 80’s , I had just gotten my Aerodyne KW and he had just gotten his built, I will never forget the grin he had being parked beside him.
