BELLVILLE: Raymond Eugene “Check” “Ray” Walter, 93, of Deerfield Road, Bellville, died Sunday evening March 25, 2007 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.

Confident in Christ as his Savior, he is now absent from the body and present with the Lord (2 Cor. 5).

He was born November 21, 1913 in Mansfield to Herbert C. and Cora Pearl (Brubaker) Walter.

A lifelong Bellville-Butler area resident, Check worked 42 years with Westinghouse as a set up man on the screw machines, and was a member of the Westinghouse Veterans Association.

A member of Butler Trinity United Methodist Church, he had served on Butler village council, was former president of the Butler Boosters Club, and had volunteered with the Worthington Township-Butler Fire Department.
