MANSFIELD: Randall K. Addington, 60, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He fought a valiant battle with cancer since 2011.  He was born August 27, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Hobart and Dorothy (Buchanan) Addington.

Randall was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.  He retired as a foreman from J & D Hydrotech in 1996.  Randall was a true outdoorsman and member of the Ashland Conservation Center.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodcarving.

He was a family man who was a beloved husband and father. Randall was humble, passionate, and strong and showed his family how to love unconditionally. He loved everyone and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife Linda (Reese) Addington; six children, Carrie (Dan) English, Jason Addington, Preshie (Dave) Stirtzinger, Amber (Chris) Dorsey, Ryan Addington, Tiffany Jessop; mother Dorothy Addington; nine grandchildren Austin, Dakoda, Jayce, Elizabeth, Brianna,David, Skyler, Abbie, and Taylor; two brothers, Phillip (Kathy) Addington, and Ray Addington;  sister-in-law Kim Addington; father-in-law James Reese; sister-in-law Jessie Reese; and brothers-in-law James Reese Jr (Celeste Amato) and David (Michelle) Reese, I.

Randall was preceded in death by his father Hobart Addington; brother Kevin Addington; and mother-in-law Jessie Reese.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 1-4pm in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held Monday at 1pm at Linden Road Presbyterian Church, 160 S. Linden Road, Mansfield with Pastor Michael Workman officiating. Additional visitation will begin at 12 pm at the church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.  Military honors will be performed by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.

  • I am so sorry for your loss. When I think back I always remember how much I laughed and made jokes with this truly special man. My heart aches for the pain my sister in law and nephews are feeling right now. I know your Dad is in a better place and is at peace.   • Randall was a very large part of my life ,he has been there for me anytime I needed him . I will miss you bubby and I will see you again when the time come tell then my heart will have a peace missing. I love you bubby tell we meet again..

  • I have never in my life have met a more kind, compassionate, loving, good hearted funny guy. He brought joy to my heart whenever I was around him. Even though it has been years since I last seen Randall,I’ll never forget how he always made me feel welcome. He had a beautiful soul and a love for his family that was so fierce that nothing could ever sever their bond. Fly High Randall for now you can spread your wings and soar through endless skies.

  • Linda I don’t even know the right words to say to you cause I havent had the experience of losing the love of my life . But from day one when you told me you was falling in love with Randall and we would sneak and see him when I seen your eyes light up I knew Randall was your soul mate . My heart goes out to you and all of the family . Iam so sorry I won’t be able to be there with you on Sunday or Monday . But if I could I sure would . I love you so much .   • Linda and family, so sorry for your loss but know he is in the arms of a good man and he had to take him back home for a reason why no one knows but god knows when and Randall is in no more pain or suffering . Linda know that im here for you dear and that I have not lost the love of my life although jerry has passed we had separated long ago but I still hurt for my one daughter that it was her dad. But to know what you are going through I don’t hun but I have good listening ears and broad shoulders to cry on and im here my friend even though I only met randall and seen you with him I am sure he was an awesome husband and dad.
