Phylis Marlene Johnson, age 82, of Dublin, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born on November 2, 1934 in Pharisburg, OH, to the late Elden Irven and Gladys Lamont (Jolliff) Disbennett. She graduated from Willis High School in 1952, married her first husband, a service member, and traveled the world raising their four daughters. She later settled in the Delaware area with her first husband after his retirement from the service and went to work as an office manager with Verizon. After their divorce, she remarried and remained in Delaware, OH, retired from Verizon, and volunteered with her aunt at a local church food bank.
Phylis enjoyed crafts, knitting, and quilting. She collected angels as well as Hummel figurines. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed going to Lake Erie and also taking care of her home, socializing with friends, and entertaining.
She is survived by her four daughters: twins, Lavon Lyn Baker of Dublin, OH, and Eavon Lee Mobley of Arlington, VA, Leilani Sue (Mike) Viers of Henderson, NV, and Lorrie Ann(Dan) Traetow of Marblehead, OH; six grandchildren: Amy, David, Adam, Andrew, Mathew, and Megan; ten great-grandchildren: Natalie, Thaddeus, Gavon, Elisabeth, Ryan, Haven, Nina, Nash, Bladen, Camlyn; and a brother: Rodney E. (Ruby) Disbennett of Delaware, OH.
Phylis was preceded in death by her second husband, Herman Edward Johnson; a daughter, Johanna Ellen Baker; a granddaughter, Tiffany Marie Stegner; a great-granddaughter, Harlow Grace Viers; and her brother Melvin E. Disbennett, and two sisters Naomi Heavlin and Chrystal Jordan.
Friends may call from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 3rd at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at West William Street, Delaware, OH. Graveside services will follow Monday at 4:00 p.m. at the Raymond Cemetery in Raymond, OH.
