Phillip Lowell McCalla

Phillip Lowell McCalla, 66, of Galion, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010 at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Galion.
Born Aug. 28, 1943 in Galion, he was the son of the late Virgil McCalla and Nora Belle Rusk McCalla. He married Marie A. Tackett McCalla on Mar. 25, 1964 and she survives.
Since 1980 Phillip has been disabled and has not worked. Before that he had worked in a Crestline burial vault factory. His first enjoyment was working on cars and going to Norwalk’s drag strip and woodworking.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Victor Herrera of Marion and Tracy and David Boyer of Galion; four grandchildren, Taelhr Samples, Parkerr Samples, Jason Rachele Boyer and Heather Boyer; one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Boyer; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Kathy McCalla of Alliance and William and Marie McCalla of Crossville, Tenn.; one sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Richard Borders of Galion and a close friend, Mary Mullins of Crestline.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Nelson.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 13, 2010 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. The will be no funeral services.
