Peggy A. “Peg” Buckingham, age 76 of Delaware an Angel of God, was called home Thursday, September 29, 2016 while surrounded by her family at Kobacker House.

She was born May 29, 1940 in Ostrander to the late Candom O. and Mildred (Phelps) Snyder.  Peg married George Buckingham on November 22, 1968 and together they shared almost 48 wonderful years raising a family, making a home, and operating several businesses together. For a brief time she also worked at Ranco.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, she attended Grace United Methodist Church, now New Beginnings Church and the church where she was married.  Gifted with a green thumb, she enjoyed gardening and flowers of all types. Peg and George created a garden oasis around their homestead. Creative in every way, she also enjoyed ceramics and crafting ceramic dolls.

Always the nurturer; kind and sweet she possessed a genuineness that was unmatched. Although shy in her younger years, she was humble and forever concerned for others.  Faithful in every way, she touched the heart of many and made it a point to enjoy every moment, especially those when surrounded by her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband: George, daughter Lori L .Webb of Delaware, son Jerry (Kris) Webb of North Point, FL, grand-daughters: Ivana and Katy B. Webb, sisters Marcena Webster of New Lewisburg, Jenni (Dean) Ecker of Ashley, brother Danny (Julie) Snyder of Marengo, sisters-in-law: Mary Ellen and Rosemary Buckingham, nieces, and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by brother Ted Snyder, niece Becky Webster, parents-in-law George and Gertrude Buckingham, brothers-in-law James “Jim” and Mark Buckingham.

Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr. at 1510 W. William St., Delaware where services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday with Pastor David Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Radnor Cemetery.

Tom and I cherish times spent with Peggy. She was always so caring and so passionate about her family and faith. She had a way about her that made me want to listen to what she had to say! May the Lord be ever so near to you at this time and the memories be sweet. God is faithful!

  • An “excellent” wife is the crown of her husband. Prov 12:4

Dear George… tears fill my eyes as I sit here thinking about your loss. Just like My Kay “baby” is to me, Peggy was what you lived for day after day, year after year, surely the Love of your life. As I think back, just how fast those years have come and gone. I know that Peggy was so entwined in your heart, spirit and soul. You and I have been truly blessed by our Heavenly Father with such beautiful, caring and loving wives. That’s why memories, pictures, letters and cards that we’ve saved over the years are so important…especially now. Please find peace, Knowing that Peggy is totally healed, young and beautiful, not in any pain, but totally immersed in God’s Light and Love that cannot be described in earthly words. The Love Story does Not end here, George. It’s really just beginning, only on a much higher ground. Just like the first day that you met her. Peggy will again be the first beautiful lady to greet You… In Heaven, our eternal home, never to lose her again. May the Love of our Lord Jesus fill and surround you.

  • Dear George – we are so very sorry for the loss of Beautiful Peggy. I know that this is very hard for you, but with God’s love and help, you will get through it. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Much love extended to you and your family.

  • The loss of a loved one is a very sad and heavy load to bare. May you find comfort in the Bible’s promise at John 5:28,29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgement.”
