Pauline Ward, 85, of Delaware passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born on May 11, 1925 in Maysville, Kentucky to the late James and Stella (Cordary) Davenport. On January 4, 1945 she married Russell Ward and enjoyed 48 years of marriage. They moved to Delaware in 1966 and worked for Ranco for 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed many wonderful years of traveling and being with her children and grandchildren. Pauline is survived by her 2 sons, William (Linda) Ward of Malta and Fred Ward of Delaware; 5 daughters, Jean (Gary) Kimberlin of Clayton, Dorothy Wilcher of Seymore, IN, Mary Buza of Delaware, Judy Browning of Delaware, and Shirley Ward of Delaware; a sister, Helen Fields of Maysville, KY; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Russell Ward of March 10, 1993; 2 sisters, Mattie Porter and Mae Moran; and 2 brothers, Edward and Clarence “Buck” Davenport. The family will receive friends from 11am-1pm on Wednesday, March 14th at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home with a funeral service at 1pm; interment will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery.
