Paul “Curly” Morales, 72, of Galion, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Galion Community Hospital after a short illness.
Born Jan. 15, 1936 in Galion, he was the son of the late John Morales and Pauline Rodriguez Morales.
He was a graduate of Galion High School in 1955 and a graduate of Delta State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business and Spanish. He also attended The Ohio State University, Louisiana State University and Ohio University.
He is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion and the Galion Moose Lodge 303. He loved animals and especially enjoyed feeding the birds and cats.
He retired with over 35 years of service from Griffin Marine Company in Atlanta where he was the Ohio sales representative and also worked as an interpreter for the Crawford County Court System. He also owned and operated his own concrete business in Galion which was headquartered from Curly’s Cantina.
He is survived by two sisters, Mary Morales and Carmela Smith both of Galion; one niece, Sylvia Smith of Fairlawn; one nephew, Thomas Morales of Albuquerque and close friends, James and Bonnie Garverick of Auburn, Ala.; Douglas and Angela Butts and daughter Katie of Chillicothe and Joseph Barrows of Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Morales.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Robert Haas officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
A vigil Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. during calling hours with Deacon, Greg Kirk officiating.
