Pattie Sue Johnson passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Masonic Pathways in Alma, Michigan where she had resided for slightly over one year.

She was born December 3, 1921 to parents William and Carrie Ewing in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas. Pattie graduated from Western High School in Detroit in 1941and then continued her education at the Detroit based Michigan Institute of Art and Conservatory of Music.

On November 20, 1941, she married Lester E. Rosan and together they raised two children, Lester Jr and Susan. They were married for 15 years until his premature passing in  1956.  On July 27, 1963, she married Lowell C. Johnson and they shared 46 years together until his passing in 2009.

She worked as a secretary for a number of years at the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. Pattie always had a smile which was a testament to her personality.  She had a very giving character and enjoyed helping people.  Pattie was a talented musician and played piano for many years at the Lexington Baptist Church and the Bellville Ohio Masonic Lodge.  She was a member of the Berean Baptist Church, Eastern Star Chapter #291, and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter #21. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and ceramics, but most of all she cherished spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children Lester (Carol) Rosan, Susan (Steven) Schrader, step children Richard (Mary) Johnson, Michael Johnson, Paul (Carolina) Johnson, Margaret Boots; 29 grandchildren; numerous great and great, great grandchildren; close friends Donna and Larry Bilbee, Naomi Tapalman and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, step son Jim Johnson, and sister Shirley Atchley.

Her family will receive friends Friday, December 23, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where a funeral service celebrating her life will follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Jim Berry will officiate. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Berean Baptist Church either directly or through Snyder Funeral Home.
