It is often said that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. Heaven received a new Angel on February 23, 2018.

Pamela Ann Muralt, age 71, of Mount Vernon passed away peacefully while surrounded by family and friends after a long illness. Pam was a long time resident of Mount Vernon Ohio and retired. When working she enjoyed her job for many years running the Mount Vernon Water Department’s Customer Service and billing office.

Pam loved people and made many friends while serving the city residents for well over 30 years. She was always there to help others and many less fortunate. She lived to make others happy and put a smile on the faces of all her friends and loved ones. Pam loved to make road trips and never knew a stranger. Pam’s life revolved around her family. Her other loves were music especially Josh Groban and Johnny Mathis. She loved dining out and her favorites were Olive Garden, the Alcove and Chinese food. She would shop year around for Christmas providing gifts for those in need and constantly working to hone her entrepreneurial skills while creating ways to diversify her career. She was a member of 2 sororities while dedicating her life to family and friends.

Pam was born August 9th, 1946 in Lancaster, Ohio. She graduated from Lancaster High School Class of 1964 and attended Ohio University Lancaster, Ohio. She worked for Sam LeFever, Fairfield County Treasurer out of high school and then worked for the State Treasurer’s office in Columbus prior to moving to Mount Vernon.

Pam is survived by three children Jennifer Hardwick, Jeremy Muralt, Heidi Muralt, grandchildren Breanna Davis, Andrew Davis, Jesse Edmundson, and Mason Muralt all of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, sister and brother in law Janet Muralt & Kevin Cottrill, cousins Tim Shaffer, Robin Shaffer Hoffman, Cindy Shaffer and Aunt Nancy Shaffer all of Lancaster, Ohio and close friend Tom Wang.

Pam is preceded in death by parents Clifford F. Muralt & Dorthala Muralt Boystel, step father Raymond C. Boystel, Grandparents Irvin & Pauline Shaffer, Great Grandparents Jeffery & Cora Fruchey, Cousin Randy Shaffer, Aunt and Uncles Dennis & Beatrice Johnson, Jack & Jeanne Shaffer, Bob & Joann Shaffer all of Lancaster and special friend Ernie Lonsinger.

Calling hours and viewing will be Tuesday February 27, 2018 from 5pm-7-pm at Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home; 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. A funeral service will be Wednesday February 28, 2018 at 11:00am. Cremation will take place and interment will be in the Muralt family grave at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lancaster, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Pam’s name.

The family would like to thank all for their support & prayers at this most difficult time and during Pam’s illness. Heaven has received a most Beautiful Angel………..
