Opal K. Williams, 95, of Delaware passed away Saturday afternoon May 21, 2011 at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, Westerville. She was born June 22, 1915 in Lafayette, Ohio to George and Sara (Estep) Cantrell and then she was raised in Paintsville, Kentucky. She was a member of the United Baptist Church in Johnson County, Kentucky and attended the Belle Avenue Church of Christ in Christian Union in Delaware. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, flowers, making crafts, and gardening. She is survived by 3 daughters, Arlene Crown of Delaware, Loris (Ralph) Fugate of Cleveland, and Grace Lewis of Delaware; son, Kermit Williams of Ashland, Kentucky; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mildred Fay of Delaware, Marie Rose of Ashland, Kentucky, and Phyllis Azbell of Delaware; 3 brothers, Earl Cantrell of Magnetic Springs, and Bill and Clyde Cantrell of Delaware; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kendall Williams, infant sister Cornelia Jewel Cantrell, sister Oshell Wheeler, and a brother Raymond Cantrell. The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 24th from 3 – 5 and 7 – 9 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St., Delaware and where funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 25th at 11:00 am with Rev. Daniel Maurer officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will then host a reception in the Rodman Neeper Community Room immediately following the committal services.
