Norfaye Winters, age 82 of Delaware, passed away at her residence Sunday surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 21, 1924 in Delaware to Madison and Nancy (nee Blaney) Evans. A lifelong Delaware resident, she was retired dispatcher for Ohio State Highway Patrol Delaware Post after 17 years of service. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a member of the George Lewis Behrens Order of The Easter Star, served on the Sarah Moore Home Board of Directors, and was a member of the Ohio Western Horse Association. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughters Diane (John) Winters-Barker, Debbie (Jim) Bergandine, and son Dave (Dawn) Winters, all of Delaware; three grandchildren Amy Bergandine, Kelly and Paul Winters, and a sister Mary Helen Inglish of Delaware. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 1998, five brothers Thurman, Carl, Lawrence, Marion, and Arthur Evans, and a sister Viola Evans. The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, March 22nd from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the RODMAN NEEPER FUNERAL HOME, 1510 W. WILLIAM ST., DELAWARE where a vigil of prayer service will be held at 4:00 PM and an Eastern Star Service at 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 23rd at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. William St., Delaware with Rev. Fr. Kevin Kavanagh officiating. Contributions in Norfaye’s memory may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to The Sarah Moore Home, 47 E. William St., Delaware.
