Nora Mae Dent, 95, of Cardington, passed away Tuesday morning August 28, 2012 at her residence. She was born August 30, 1916 in Columbus, Ohio to James and Cynthia (Ball) Adams. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading and especially writing. She also enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with her family. In 1964, she was a founding member of the Marlboro Primitive Baptist Church and has been a faithful member ever since. She is survived by daughters, Kathy (Pat) Dent of Prescott, AZ, Cynthia Layton of Prospect, OH, and Karen (Gordon) Labuhn of Whidby Island, WA; son, Marshall Dent of Lake City, FL; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband of 15 years John Robert Thornbury, 2nd husband of 55 years Verner Truman Dent, stillborn daughter Carmen Thornbury, brother Roy Adams, and a son-in-law Lee Layton. Celebration of Life Services will be held on her birthday, Thursday August 30th at 11:00 am in the Marlborough Primitive Baptist Church at the corner of Horseshoe and Leonardsburg Rd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Marlborough Cemetery.
