Nola M. Wilcox

August 04, 1935 ‒ June 23, 2018

Marion, Ohio

Nola M. Wilcox entered eternal life to be reunited with her husband, Calvin “Bud” Wilcox, on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Christmas in heaven will be extra special this year, she will make sure of it. Nola was 82 years old and lived most of her life in Marion.

Nola was born in Delaware, Ohio on August 4, 1935 to the late Richard R. and Laura (Smart) Williams.

Her spirit is carried on by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Nola (mom, grandma, “nana”) was deeply loved and admired by her family, and really everyone she met. She was an amazing woman, and was so thoughtful, giving, and caring. Nola believed in treating people right, and that in doing so you would get the same in return. She believed people were good and she always looked for the best in others. Her home was always open to everyone, and no guest ever left hungry or without a “gift.” She had a heart of gold. She was an extremely strong woman, had a witty sense of humor, and could always make you laugh,  a “I tell it like it is” motto. She had a special bond with kids, in recent years her great grandchildren, whom she cuddled often and loved so much.

She will be missed deeply by her family, but she will never be forgotten. The memories, those that she created and were shared with many, will live on forever.

She is survived by son, Michael Wilcox of Georgia who gave grandchildren Melisa (Patrick) Wilcox-Young and Samantha Leigh, Melisa giving great-grandchild, Lily; daughters: Patricia (Erik) Alexander of Marion, who gave grandchildren, Hope (Dave) Villao and Amber (Jeff) Nastasi, Hope giving great-grandchild, Landon and Amber giving great-grandchildren, Chloe, Blake, Molly, and Olivia, Christina (Bob) Friday-Domke of Texas giving grandchildren, Anthony (Cassi) Friday and Adam (Kaylyn) Friday, Anthony giving great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Theador; and Carol (Ralph) Young giving grandchildren, Sophia (Spencer) Galloway and Emily Young. Also surviving are brothers, Harry Williams and Richard Williams.

Nola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Loretta, Susie, Peggy, Reg, and Jerry.
Friends may call at Snyder Funeral Homes, DENZER Chapel, 360 East Center St., on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 5 until 7 pm. A funeral service honoring her life will be held at the funeral home Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in The Marion Cemetery.
