Noah Roosevelt Lycans, age 81, of Marengo and formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away Monday morning, January 21, 2019, at Bennington Glen.

He was born January 27, 1937 in Wayne County West Virginia, son of the late Gertie (Pratt) Lycans and John Wesley Lycans.

John worked on the railroad and Gertie was a homemaker. They moved to Portsmouth Ohio where Noah graduated from high school. Noah lived with and assisted his mother who had severe rheumatoid arthritis. Upon her death he moved in with his sister Annalee Lycans Hatten and his brother in law Harry Gene Hatten. Upon Annalee’s death he moved in with his niece Anagene Loebick and her husband William C. Loebick.

Noah was also predeceased by 3 brothers Yulie, Russell and Vernon Lycans and his father all from Kenova West Virginia.

He loved to read his Bible morning and night.  He was a very generous and loving person who brought smiles to everyone who knew him.

Noah spent his last years at Bennington Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marengo, Ohio where he was lovingly cared for by many staff.

No funeral services will be held and burial will take place in Bloomfield Cemetery at a later date.
