Myriam G. Place
September 10, 1939 ‒ November 29, 2017
Myriam Place, age 78 of Delaware passed away at home Wednesday, November 29, 2017 surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 10, 1939 in Nice, France to the late Lester and Madeline (Wright) Geary. A graduate of Willis High School in 1957, shortly afterwards she married AJ Place in Indiana. Together they shared 60 wonderful years raising their family in Delaware.
A dedicated wife and mother, she did it all, working two jobs. While working at the shipping department at Ranco, she raised a family of five; needless to say she was hard worker. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary Church.
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was an avid fan of sports and the Ohio State Buckeyes. She favored traveling: bus trips, cruises, and bowl games. Described as a food enthusiast and fabulous cook, she was known for her famous cut out Christmas cookies and love of the holiday.
At times a bit stubborn, there was no question where one stood with Myriam, she always stood on the right side of humanity. Supporting every endeavor of her family, she will be remembered for her hard working ways and love of family.
She is survived by her husband AJ “Trigger”, children: Cherilyn (Chuck) Maleport of Ostrander, Cathleen Rider, twins Crissy (Joe) Amato and Geary, and Cyndi Place all of Delaware, treasured grandchildren: Danielle, Savannah, Sabrina Amato, Jessica Davis, Joshua Harris, Hayley, Corey, Cody, and Madison Place, 4 great-grandchildren, brother Ben Geary of Delaware. The family deeply appreciates the special care provided by son-in-law Chuck Maleport.
She was also preceded in death by son-in-law Doug Rider, grandson Tyler Place, sister Mary Kelley, and step-mother Margaret Geary.
