Mildred L. Deighton, 90, formerly of North Olmsted, Ohio passed away early Saturday morning August 18, 2012 at the Willow Brook Christian Village, Delaware. She was born January 29, 1922 in Cleveland to J. George and Marie (Olschewski) Lieberman. Shortly after getting married, she worked for the Louis Research Center and later worked as a teacher for the North Olmstead Public Schools for over 25 years. She was a people person and a lover of animals and she enjoyed decades of family camping trips. She is survived by a son, Gary (Karen) of Delaware; daughters, Marsha Rafferty of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Jean Tobia of Fairview Park, OH, Stacy Deighton of Hilliard, OH, and Saundra Deighton (R. Scott Drake) of Groveport, OH; 7 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Opal Lieberman. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Edward Deighton in 2003, infant daughter Marilyn, brothers George and Carl Lieberman, and a son-in-law Michael Tobia. Private family services will be held at a later date. Contributions in Mildred’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of Delaware County.
